Thirteen Information Technology interns from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) San Pedro Campus marked a significant milestone as they successfully completed their 500-hour internship program. The achievement was celebrated through a recognition and awarding ceremony held at Socio Gastropub, bringing together interns, company leaders, and mentors for an afternoon of appreciation and celebration.
During the program, the interns were assigned to various departments, including Website Development, Printing Operations, and Trading Services, where they gained valuable industry experience and practical skills that complemented their academic learning. Throughout their internship, the students actively participated in projects and daily operations, allowing them to develop both technical expertise and professional competencies.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of the interns’ major accomplishment—a portfolio of 33 church websites developed using the WordPress platform. The interns showcased the websites they had worked on throughout their training, demonstrating their knowledge of website development, content management, design customization, and digital platform management. Their presentation reflected not only the technical skills they had acquired but also their ability to apply these skills to real-world projects.
The ceremony also served as an opportunity to recognize how the interns successfully applied and adopted the training, guidance, and best practices imparted to them throughout the internship program. Their outputs and presentations showcased the knowledge they had gained and the professional growth they achieved during their time in the organization.
As part of the recognition program, each intern was awarded a Certificate of Completion in acknowledgment of their dedication, hard work, and successful fulfillment of the internship requirements. The certificates symbolized the culmination of months of learning, collaboration, and commitment to excellence.
The event was graced by the presence of Director Almabelle Alzona, Director Teresita Labaguis Escamilla, and Adelmo Cabrera Labaguis, President and Chief Executive Officer, who congratulated the interns for their accomplishments and encouraged them to continue pursuing growth and innovation in their future careers.
Beyond celebrating the completion of the required internship hours, the awarding ceremony recognized the determination, creativity, and professionalism demonstrated by the interns throughout their journey. The occasion served as a reminder of the importance of experiential learning and the impact it has in preparing students for the demands of the professional world.
As they conclude this chapter of their academic journey, the 13 PUP San Pedro IT interns leave with valuable industry experience, enhanced technical skills, and the confidence to take on future opportunities in the field of Information Technology.
The ceremony concluded with a celebration of their achievements, honoring not only the completion of 500 internship hours but also the successful application of the knowledge and skills they developed along the way.
